Steve Brown
Steve acquired his first guitar at the age of 11 and was self-taught up to the age of 17 when he was introduced to a Classical guitarist who invited him to attend classes and learn to play the right way. He joined his first band 'Balance' in 1973 and then formed a pub band called 'Spartacus' in the mid 1970s. He also played in a resident band, 'Antimony', in a motel near Gloucester. In 1979, he auditioned for 'Ferris Wheel' , and stayed with them for three years. For the next 10 years he was involved in many musical projects until joining 'Just for Kix' whom he still performs with occasionally. Steve was a co-founder of Nosy Parker.
Nick is largely self-taught, began playing and singing in bands as a teenager, and then, with aspirations as a singer-songwriter, arrived in London with a catalogue of well-crafted progressive songs just as the 'punk' thing was happening.....and so had to start again! A number of bands followed, notably Contempt and Electrotunes which involved extensive touring, recording and some TV, in addition to years on the road -pubs, clubs, theatres, festivals, cruise ships - all over the world. As well as working as a music teacher, Nick has played keyboards with the Heat (Bristol soul/funk outfit) and guitar with the Alligators and helped form Nosy Parker in 2010.
Julian Hankins
Spent the entire 1980's playing in London and gaining experience with many different styles of bands and musicians. Played in R&B outfit Across The Tracks alongside Gin Saw (one time sideman with Joe Cocker and Graham Bond among others), Dick Bland (Shakin' Stevens bassist) and Ed Deane (|Frankie Miller, Dave Kelly guitarist). Also played with The Balham Alligators, Cajun/Blues band The Lizards, appearing on their album "Promised Land" and spent a few months backing US Country tinged pop duo Caglo Mac. Back in the West Country, played with big soul revue The Soultones, hard rock band Rough Justice and led a jazz/funk quintet Ipso-Facto. Currently deping with The Alligators and joined NP in June this year.
